The beginning:
Hey guys hope all's well, initially this was supposed to be up yesterday but as the motto for this year goes ,its better late than ever, right? right.lol
So lets gets into this transformation, on March sixth I decided to join a 12 week fitness program called 'MY BEST BODY' I was already deep into my fitness journey but wasn't getting the results that I really wanted, and it seemed that this challenge was a chance to not only transform myself physically but saw this as an opportunity to work one-on-one with a personal trainer and really get to find out where I was going wrong.

Week 1-4:
In this challenge we were given a strict diet and workout program that we had to follow. We worked out 3 times a week with two LISS (Low intensity) cardio sessions to complete. These four weeks were easy going because the whole idea of weighing out my food and being on a consistent training regime was still settling in. This is the one lesson learned in the first four weeks: CONSISTENCY, just take it one day at a time,

Week 5-8:
Now when we started week 5 the workouts and cardio sessions increased to five times a week, I'm not even kidding I wanted to quit, I wasn't seeing any changes and we tend to give up so easily when we don't see what we expected. Especially low carb days,Those were hard. Doing this challenge I didn't know that having to juggle between classes and workouts and still have the time to study for the next class and exams was going to take strategic planning and a precise execution. The lesson I learned in these weeks was : MENTAL STRENGTH if I can overcome it in my mind and keep on pushing I can overcome anything.

Week 9-12:
Starting week 9 sort of got this boost of energy, finally I was seeing changes with body and the scale(not that I live by the number on the scale) was going down meaning now my body was slowly shedding fat and building muscle, here is where I was glad I didn't give up because I wouldn't have known I could go this far. Even-though the workouts were now six days a week with cardio everyday, somehow managed to do everything that I needed to do. The one perk of week 9-12 was that we were allowed re-feed days so meaning MORE CARBS lol trust me they are worth it especially being on a deficit for that long. what I learned: DEDICATION, Set out to finish what I started.
The food(a typical day):
Breakfast:
Rolled oats and 1 whole egg with egg-whites and a cup of coffee
a medium apple/ 100g of pineapple
2nd meal:
lean meat(chicken,fish)
potatoes/rice
green vegetable
pre-workout:
30g protein shake
peanut butter
a medium banana
4th meal:
lean meat(fish,tuna,chicken)
green vegetable
sweet potato
5th meal:
cottage cheese
protein/casein
a tablespoon of peanut butter
Drink at least 3-4 L of water a day.
In conclusion:
I'm really glad I got to do this because in the end I can clearly see I look so much better that I looked three months ago. Even though this challenge is over,I will continue the principles I've learned and working towards building more muscle and an overall great physique , this has just motivated me to go even harder. Thank you to the My Best Body Team for never giving up on us.
PS; I hope this has motivated you to work on your fitness and health goals and if you've learned something let me know in the comment section, and oh you're the real MVP for reaching the end.
xoxo

DeleteNice one. Great transformation. When I saw the pics I was like lol speechless. I've signed up for the gym but, I guess multitasking isn't really my thing. Or I'm just good with excuses, between school and working out I tend to lean unto one side. I hope I'll get a hang of things. This has given me an idea that maybe if I'm to sign up for some program maybe it would be a great kick off. Anyways great job and keep on.
ReplyDeletehey, thank you so much. indeed its hard to find a balance, but what I've figured out is that I now make a plan of the to do things of the day and follow them one by one. It helps keep me on track. Good-luck on your journey :)
